Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026
These terms apply to the GeoMarqr app and website ("GeoMarqr"), operated by Mothertrucking Limited and LowCode NZ Ltd, New Zealand ("we", "us"). By using GeoMarqr, including viewing the map or uploading a photo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use GeoMarqr.
1. What GeoMarqr is
GeoMarqr is a public map of photos shared by the people who use it. Photos are pinned to the place they were taken so others can see what is happening there.
GeoMarqr can be used anywhere in the world, and we don't limit which public places or events can be photographed. A photo of something happening in a public place, including police or other official activity, is treated like any other photo: it stays on the map unless it breaks these terms. Anyone can report it, and we review reports as described in section 5.
GeoMarqr is not an emergency service. Nobody is monitoring the map for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, call 111 in New Zealand or your local emergency number. Never put yourself or others at risk to take a photo.
2. Who can use GeoMarqr
You must be 18 or older to use GeoMarqr.
You can browse the map and upload photos without an account. If you create an account, keep your login details private; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
3. Your photos
You keep ownership of the photos and notes you upload ("your content").
By uploading, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, display, resize and share your content in GeoMarqr and in connection with running and promoting the service. Photos are public: anyone can see them on the map, along with where and when they were taken.
Only upload photos that you took yourself or have permission to share. Think about other people's privacy before you upload. Avoid photos where the main subject is someone's face, a private home interior, or anything else a person would reasonably expect to stay private.
Photos are shown on the public map for a limited time and may then be kept in our archive, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you have an account you can delete your photos in the app. To ask us to remove a photo you uploaded without an account, email hi@geomarqr.com.
4. What is not allowed
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not upload, or use GeoMarqr to share, anything that:
- is sexually explicit or pornographic;
- shows gratuitous violence, gore, or cruelty, or shows injured or deceased people in a way that disrespects them;
- harasses, bullies, threatens, or targets a person or group;
- promotes hatred or discrimination against people because of who they are;
- sexualises or endangers children in any way;
- invades someone's privacy, or shares personal details such as home addresses, documents or number plates in order to identify or expose a person;
- is illegal, or encourages illegal or dangerous activity;
- is deliberately false or misleading, such as a staged or altered photo, or a photo pinned to the wrong place or time;
- is spam, advertising, or unrelated to what is happening at the location;
- belongs to someone else and is shared without their permission.
You also must not try to break, overload, scrape, or get around the security of GeoMarqr, or submit false reports about other people's photos.
5. Moderation, reporting and blocking
Uploads are checked by automated filters, and may also be reviewed by a person.
- Report: you can report any photo from the photo viewer (⋯ → Report photo). A reported photo is hidden for you straight away. We review reports and act on them within 24 hours.
- Hide an uploader: you can hide all photos from an uploader on your device (⋯ → Hide photos from this uploader).
- What we do: we remove content that breaks these terms, and we block the accounts of people who post it. We can remove any content or block any user at our discretion, without notice.
If you think we removed your photo by mistake, email hi@geomarqr.com.
6. Don't rely on the map
Photos come from members of the public. We don't verify them, and they may be wrong, out of date, or misleading. Conditions change quickly. Use your own judgement and follow the instructions of official emergency and civil defence services. Don't rely on GeoMarqr to make decisions about safety, travel, property or insurance.
7. Our liability
GeoMarqr is provided "as is". We don't promise that it will always be available, accurate or error-free.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of GeoMarqr or from content uploaded by other people. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other law that cannot be excluded. If you use GeoMarqr for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply.
You are responsible for your content. If someone brings a claim against us because of content you uploaded or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. To delete your account, see Delete your account.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app or on the website. If you keep using GeoMarqr after a change, you accept the new terms.
We may change, suspend or stop GeoMarqr, or any part of it, at any time.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
