Roadmap
What we're building, what comes next, and what has shipped. When a date moves, the original stays on the page.

Archive and exports
The live map shows this week. Some jobs need last month.
We want a way to look back, filter by time and place, and export a set of photos.
How it works
- Not designed yet.
- Meant for councils, insurers and anyone building a record of what happened at a place.
-
Photo requests
A client wants a tiny house moved. Someone has to look at the site first.
A team will be able to send the client a link. The client takes the photos. No app, no account.
How it works
- A manager names the job and adds a note, like "Driveway, gate, power lines".
- The client opens the link in their phone's browser and takes the photos.
- The photos go to the team. They never go on the public map.
- A link lasts 7 days. A manager can end it sooner.
-
Paid team plans
A team wants one bill, not one per person.
Teams will pay per seat by card, or once a year by invoice.
How it works
- A plan belongs to a team, never to a person.
- Small teams buy seats on the website and give each one to an email address.
- Large organisations pay once a year. Anyone with the organisation's email address joins automatically.
- Nothing is sold inside the app. Personal accounts stay free.
- If a plan lapses, the team's photos are locked for 90 days before anything is deleted. The owner can download them all.
-
Share links
A team needs to show a client or an insurer the 12 photos of the slip.
A manager will be able to pick the photos and send one link.
How it works
- The manager picks an end date. It starts at 30 days.
- Anyone with the link can open it. No sign-in.
- A manager can end a link early.
- It works for photos that are not on the public map.
-
Team-only photos
Not every photo belongs on a public map. A job site. A client's house.
A team will be able to keep a photo to itself.
How it works
- Each upload to a team has a "Share with public" tick box.
- The team chooses whether it starts ticked.
- An unticked photo is stored privately. Only the team sees it.
- The button says where the photo is going before you send it.
-
Team portal
A team manager is at a desk as often as in the field.
The team page will work in a browser as well as in the app. A bigger screen gives a manager more to work with.
How it works
- Members: see who is in the team, add people and remove them.
- Photos: every team photo, as a list and on the map.
- Billing: seats, invoices and the card. On the web only.
-
Teams
Some photos are for your crew, not the whole country.
Soon you'll create a team and invite the people who should see them.
How it works
- A team is the people you work with: a crew, a depot, a council department.
- Each person has their own sign-in. Nobody shares a password.
- Post a photo to the team and the whole team sees it.
- Owner: pays for the team and can close it.
- Manager: adds and removes people.
- Member: takes photos and sees the team's photos.
- You can be in more than one team.
-
Photo pages
Sharing a photo sends a bare image file. No map, no date, no way back to the app.
A shared photo will open on its own GeoMarqr page.
How it works
- The page shows the photo and a way to open it in the app.
- Messaging apps show a proper preview of the link.
- If the photo has been removed, the page says so.
-
AutoUpdater
A user noticed their app had fallen out of sync with the server.
The app will check that it is in sync. If it isn't, it asks you to update.
How it works
- Android: updates in place.
- iPhone: sends you to the App Store.
- Web: reloads itself.
- If the check can't reach us, you are let in as normal.
-
iPhone app
GeoMarqr is on Android and the web. On an iPhone you have to use the browser.
We built the iPhone app and sent it to Apple on 11 October 2026. It's with them for review.
How it works
- The same app as Android: camera, location, offline capture, the map, reporting.
- iPhone only at launch. No iPad version yet.
-
Report and hide
Photos come from the public. Sooner or later one shouldn't be there.
You can now report a photo, or hide everything from one uploader.
How it works
- In the photo viewer, tap ⋯ then "Report photo".
- The photo is hidden for you straight away. We review reports within 24 hours.
- Three reports from signed-in people take a photo off the map for everyone until we have looked.
- "Hide photos from this uploader" works on your device. Undo it from the filter panel.
-
Old photo notice
A photo taken in August was uploaded in September. It never showed on the map, and nothing said why.
The upload screen now tells you when a photo is too old for the live map.
How it works
- The live map shows the last 7 days.
- An older photo is still saved. It just isn't shown on the live map.
- You are told before you submit, not after.
-
Private until checked
Our security audit found that a new photo could be opened by its link before it had been checked.
New photos now wait in private storage until they pass the check.
How it works
- The check usually takes seconds.
- Only then does the photo go on the public map.
- When a photo is removed, its link stops working.
-
Android app
A browser can't hold a photo until you are back in coverage. A phone app can.
GeoMarqr is on Google Play.
How it works
- Tap the camera and take the photo. The app records where and when.
- Add tags and a note if you want to.
- No account needed.
-
Edit your photos
A wrong tag or a typo meant deleting the photo and uploading it again.
You can now fix a photo's tags or note, or delete it.
How it works
- Sign in and open your profile.
- Tap a photo under My Photos.
- Change the tags or the note and save, or delete it.
-
Photo viewer
Photos opened in a small popup. You couldn't see the detail.
Photos now open full screen.
How it works
- Pinch to zoom.
- Swipe between photos taken at the same spot.
- Each photo shows its date, coordinates, note and tags.
- Share a photo from the top of the screen.
-
Offline capture
The places worth photographing are often the ones with no signal.
The app keeps the photo, with where and when, and uploads it when you reconnect.
How it works
- Phone app only. The web app needs a connection.
- A badge shows while you are offline.
- Photos you have already loaded stay on the map.
- The pin is where you stood, not where you found signal.
-
Tags and filters
With every photo on one map, the ones you needed were hard to find.
Photos now carry tags, and you can filter the map by them.
How it works
- Pick tags when you upload. An automated pass adds more.
- Switch tags on and off in the filter panel.
- A photo shows if any of its tags is on.
-
Automatic moderation
Photos used to wait for one of us to approve them.
An automated check now does it in seconds.
How it works
- It looks for explicit, violent and other objectionable content.
- A photo that passes appears on the map.
- A photo that fails never appears.
-
Web app
The first version asked you to sign in before you could pick a photo. That was the wrong way round.
Now you take the photo first. Signing in is optional.
How it works
- Open the live map in any browser.
- Tap the camera, take or choose a photo, allow location, submit.
- Add an email address to keep track of the photo, or skip that.
